Greeting the day should include a breakfast that lifts your spirits and fuels your body. For some of you, that means a healthy smoothie. For others, it is reliving a fond memory or tradition. It is the latter for me. I have incredibly fond childhood memories of my mom making stacks upon stacks of pancakes or French toast for me and my best friend, Jennifer. Mom served them with loads of butter, positively swimming in syrup. We ate and ate until our bellies couldn’t hold another bite.
Sometimes, if Mom had the time, she dropped the batter in the shapes of little people or animals. Such an easy way to make breakfast memorable for two little girls! When I grew up and started a family of my own, I always enjoyed making food memories with the kids. Mark and I were pretty poor getting started, so it was an inexpensive way to give them something special. Greeting the day with a positive food experience is a wonderful gift to yourself and your family.
