When breaking for lunch, do you crave a punch of flavor? It doesn’t have to be a heavy meal, but it should wake up your mouth to carry you through to dinner. That often translates into a salad or side paired with a protein to give it more substance. We call that reverse portioning. Mark did not readily embrace this idea, but I am slowly winning him over. He is a runner, and we both like to hike, and so we have to manage our intake when our belts get too tight. A flavor-filled lunch makes it easier to go a little lighter.
